中秋节

Every year on the lunar calendar of October fiftieth the refined scholars will get together to write some essays or poetries to praise the mid-autumn festival. At about 9 o’clock in the morning, there are a lot of teams selected from every town will assemble in the center of the city to have a competition. After dinner, people will come out to watch dancing, singing. Kids take their moon cakes with spice to find their mates, waiting for the moon come out, playing some games. After they all tired, they eat the moon cakes and then back home.

Mid-autumn Festival comes from the story of Houyi and Chang’e. Long time ago there were ten suns, all the crows were dead by the burning of the suns, people were hard to survive. A man named Houyi who was muscularity; he shot nine suns only left one by his bow and arrow. Later he got married with a beautiful woman named Chang’e , and one day he got a bag of drug which people could become an immortal if he eat it. But Houyi loved his wife so much that he didn’t want to leave his wife, and then he gave this drug to his wife to keep. A man named Fengmeng knew it and he threaded Chang’e gave it to him when Houyi went out. Chang’e had to choose, so she took this drug and then she became an immortal fled to the moon. When Houyi came back he was so sad. He missed his wife so much and he always put some food which Chang’e liked to eat in the garden and burned the spice to pray Chang’e was well.
