Suzhou is located in the southeastern part of Jiangsu Province. Suzhou, the cradle of Wu culture, is one of the oldest towns in the Yangtze Basin. Suzhou is conveniently located on the Jinghu(京沪) Railway linking Shanghai and Nanjing, the provincial capital, to both of which there is hourly railway service. The chinese opera Kunqu originates in the Suzhou region, as does the much later Suzhou Opera. There are many notable people from suzhou,such as Fan Zhongyan（范仲淹） ,Feng Menglong （冯梦龙）and Gu Yanwu（顾炎武）. The long history of Suzhou City has left behind many attractive scenic spots and historical sites with beautiful and interesting legends. For example, The elegant classical gardens, the old - fashioned houses ,the beautiful lakes and delicate bridges Every year many travllers come from diffferent countries go to Suzhou to look around these scenic spots and historical sites. Suzhou is best known for its gardens: Humble Administrator's Garden（拙政园）, Lingering Garden（留园）, the Surging Wave Pavilion（沧浪亭）, the Lion Forest Garden (狮子林)and the Master of Nets Garden（网师园）. These gardens weave together the best of traditional Chinese architecture, painting and arts.
