The golden historya

Xiamen University (XMU),located in the southeastern of Fujiang province,was officially founded in 1921 with the only economic support from Mr. Tan Kah Kee. And it’s the first university set up by overseas Chinese in the history of Chinese education.During Mr.Wenqing Lin（the first head master of XMU)’s leading, XMU set up 5 institutes and 21 departments. With holding the school motto "Pursue Excellence, Strive for Perfection ,many excellent professors and teachers were attracted to the XMU, including Lu xun.Nowadays XMU, which is in the list of “211 Project”&”985 Project”, is thought to be one of the most influential universities in Chinese education system.And XMU has been the cradle for many famous people such as Yu Guangzhong,Lu Jiaxi,ChenJingrun,Lin Feng,Yi Zhongtian, etc.They make great difference for the society in many aspects.

XMU,a comprehensive university containing several hundreds majors,is one of the most famous universities in China.Among it's majors,the Economy which can match with Qinghua university is the best major in XMU,and the administrative science and politics is also very famous.

The school has a high level of teacher team, a group full-time teachers of 2383 people which contains full-time teachers professor, associate professor in 1322, accounting for 55% of the total number .With PhD degree for1349, accounting for 56.6%.

XMU also owns the advance teaching facilities.For example,the college of

management provides company modern teaching environment for MBA graduate students.It's has the international standard MBA center case and the case teaching research laboratory, the dow Jones global financial information system lab,

accounting laboratory, the laboratory management process and remote education laboratory.
