1. How should people reply to this invitation, and when? 人们应该怎样答复这个邀请？什么时候答复？

Reply可以做不及物动词，后加介词to构成reply to 结构，后可跟人或物做宾语， 意为“对。。。做出回答”。

例如：He didn’t reply to her question right away. 他没有立刻回答她的问题。 reply 和answer 的区别

1). 二者均可表示“回答”，可作名词和动词。

answer 为一般用语，主要用于对问题、指责等的回答；reply的用法较正式，多用于对问题作出解释、辩论或陈述性回答。

2). 二者作名词时都指“ 的答案或答复”，均与 to 连用。

例如：Answer this question．回答这个问题。

I asked her the reason，but she didn’t reply．我问她为什么，她却不回答。 I received no reply／answer to my request．我的要求没有收到任何答复。

注意： answer 后面可直接跟宾语，而reply 跟宾语时须与 to 连用；answer 可表示对电话、 敲门等作出的“应答”，reply 则不能。

例如：You must reply to／answer this letter right away． 你应当马上回复这封信。 Who answered the telephone？ 谁接的电话？ 如果是指练习题的“答案”，一般用 answer。

例如：The answer to 6×10 is 60． 6乘以10 的答案是60。 即学即练一 用relay 和answer填空

dress 穿衣 做及物动词， 表示动作， 意为“给…穿衣”， 后跟人作宾语。常用结构dress sb.“给某人穿衣服”； dress oneself “给自己穿衣服”； get dressed “穿衣服”。 如：The boy can dress himself.

1）dress 也可以表示状态， 常构成“be dressed in+衣服” 结构。

如： The girl is dressed in a white skirt. 这个女孩穿着一件白色的裙子。 2）dress 用作不及物动词， 意为“穿衣打扮”。 如： Get up and dress quickly. 赶快起床穿衣服。

注意：1) wear 指“穿着”的状态，也可以表示“戴着”， 后接衣服等的名词。 戴帽子、眼镜、首饰均用wear.

如： She wore her red coat and glasses．她穿上了她的红外套，戴上了眼镜。 3） put on 指“穿” 的动作，即“穿上”， 后接表示衣服的名词。 如： It’s cold, please put on your sweater. 天冷， 请穿上你的毛衣。 即学即练二
