AS Product Design Controlled Assessment

Your guide to the project

Where does it fit in with my AS as a whole?

You will complete 2 units to gain your AS in product Design. An exam in June covering materials and processes, and a piece of Controlled Assessment work,

completed throughout the year called an ePortfolio. Both are worth equal amounts of your AS grade.

How is it all marked?

Your ePortfolio will consist of 3 projects and will be split into the 5 sections as shown below.

What will it involve?

You will be given 3 projects to do this year:

Model Memphis furniture Pewter jewellery

3D product model (for some of you!)

You will do some researching, designing, making and evaluating for each of the projects.

Your portfolio will show the work from each of these sections from all 3 projects and will be marked against the assessment criteria you have been given.

Your teacher will give you more details about the projects later on. Good Luck
